Estimated Sellers Costs


Selling a house involves many costs that Sellers should be aware of. The Seller can expect to pay from approximately 5% to 9% of the sales price in fees.  These fees include:
 

Real Estate Agent Commissions of 3% to 6%

and

Other Fees that can add up to approximately 2% to 3% of the sales price.  These fess often include a Title Insurance Policy, Title Company Escrow Fee, Attorney/Document Preparation Fees, Filing/Recording Fees, Courier Fees, Residential Service Contract (Home Warranty), among others.

 

These fees are paid by the seller out of the proceeds of the sale at closing.  It is important to consider your equity position and loan payoff amount as you may find that insufficient equity exists to cover the Sellers fees.
